12th IFAC International Symposium on
Advanced Control of Chemical Processes

Greetings from the NOC and IPC Chairs

On behalf of the National Organizing Committee and International Program Committee, we are delighted to welcome you to ADCHEM 2024, the 12th IFAC Symposium on Advanced Control of Chemical Processes in Toronto, Canada!

ADCHEM, held every three years, is one of those symposia of the International Federation of Automatic Control that focus on chemical and biochemical process control. Due to their versatility and capabilities, the methods developed in these fields are of relevance to a diverse range of areas beyond classical chemical process control, including energy generation and storage, pharmaceutical processes, and water treatment.

Based on a rigorous reviewing process, the International Program Committee selected 156 contributions for presentations in 25 oral and 2 poster sessions. The program comprises 3 plenary and 6 keynote lectures, and the conference is complemented by pre-conference workshops, a special industrial session, and a round table discussion on the impact of artificial intelligence and machine learning on the field. Needless to say, you are also warmly invited to the social events such as the Welcome Reception on Sunday and the Conference Dinner on Tuesday.

ADCHEM 2024 would not take place without the generous support of numerous volunteers. The National Organizing Committee and the International Program Committee thank their teams, the organizers of invited session, the associate editors, and the reviewers. Do not hesitate to stop at the conference registration desk or contact any volunteer if you have questions or need assistance. We wish you an enjoyable symposium and stay in Toronto!

Best regards,

Christopher Swartz (NOC chair), on behalf of the NOC
Martin Mönnigmann (IPC chair), on behalf of the IPC
