Abstract

In this paper the spectral properties of two different types of projection signals appearing in 3-D tomography are considered. In particular, the spectral behaviour of the 3-D projection signal generated via a plane integral is analysed and its effective support region is figured out. On the basis of this result, an optimal interleaved sampling pattern is established. Compared to the traditional progressive sampling method, a reduction of sampling points by the factor 4 is achieved.
