Abstract
In the present paper a mathematical procedure is described examining the structure of mineral processing flowsheets in order to determine the minimum sampling requirements and at the same time ensuring a material balance of the circuit. A new equation is proposed and its validation is verified in relevant applications, where a comparison is made with methods previously proposed. The equation proved to be easily applicable and reliable, not requiring in advance rearrangement of the circuit.
