A new PROST control center was established in Dec. 2010

Welcome to the PROST homepage!

The strong point center in PROcess Systems Engineering in Trondheim (PROST) was established in June 1994. It was awarded by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and SINTEF in recognition of the strong international standing of the group. The center received one million NOK annually from NTNU and SINTEF during the period 1994-99. At present the funding comes from our industrial members .

About 40 persons are associated with PROST. This includes six professors with about 20 Ph.D. students from three NTNU Departments

  • Chemical Engineering ( Haug-Warberg, Hertzberg, Preisig, Skogestad)
  • Engineering Cybernetics (EE) (Foss, Hovd) [ Process Cybernetics group ]
  • Thermal Energy and Hydropower (ME) ( Gundersen) and in addition the two associated SINTEF groups
  • SINTEF Chemical Engineering
  • SINTEF Automatic Control. PROST's main research areas are:

    *Process modelling
*Process simulation and optimization, both static and dynamic
    *Process control
