Dear Timo Montonen,

Thank you for your email.

1) the states in the reduced model have no physical meaning
2) The units for outputs y_d and M_b: 1 = 0.01 mole fraction units
   The units for outputs M_d and M_b: 1 = 1 mol
   The units for inputs (L,V,D,B): 1 = 1 mol/s = F (the feed rate)
   The units for disturbance 1 (F): 1 = 0.2 mol/s (20% change)
   The units for disturbance 2 (z_f): 1 = 0.1 mole fraction units
3) There is no rescaling when we go from the 82 state to 5 state model.
Again note that the states have no physical meaning in the 5state
   model.

I hope this helps.

I have also changed the files in the book home page, see Tab12_3.m,
such that they provide more information.

Best regards,
Sigurd Skogestad
