Fatigue analysis¶

Fatigue is typically the main failure mechanism for structures under cyclic loading. For composite materials and laminates, fatigue analysis and consequent life prediction become difficult due to the complexity of the material(s) and the laminated structure. The fatigue behavior of one constituent may be significantly affected by the presence of other constituents as well as by the interfacial regions between the fibers and matrix and the interface between layers.
