Subset Velocity VectorΒΆ

A subset velocity vector points to the approximate location where the subset should be located in the next image.

To define a subset veloctiy vector:

The “Define Subset Velocity Vector”-action is now active. This is a two-click action, i.e. the first click selects the subset to be modified, while the second click sets the approximate location of the subset in the next image.

When the velocity vector is defined, the subset should look something like the image below.

Hint

Load the next image of the analysis in the PreProcessor before defining the vector.

To use this feature in a subset DIC analysis, check the Use Velocity for Initial Guess-checkbox in the DIC Input File Editor (See image below).

During the subset DIC analysis, the velocity vector will now be constantly updated, helping the analysis to “know” approximately where the subset should be.
