MODEL PURPOSE AND STRUCTURE
The SSIIM program is made for use in River/Environmental/Hydraulic/Sedimentation Engineering. It calculates water, sediment flow and water quality in three dimensions, solving the Navier-Stokes equations with the k-epsilon turbulence model. The convection-diffusion equations are solved to calculate sediment transport and water quality constituent transport. The calculations are time-dependent and an adaptive grid moves vertically to account for changes in water and bed level.
The program includes graphical pre and post prosessors including an interactive grid editor, vector and contour plots, particle animations and 2D and 3D OpenGL graphics with colorshading.
The various modules can run simoultaneously by using the multi-threading possibilities of OS/2. It is therefore possible to view the preliminary results and/or interactively change the grid and input data while the numerical calculations are running.

OPERATING SYSTEM:
SSIIM 1.4 runs only under OS/2 Warp 4.0 and later versions. More information about OS/2 and running SSIIM on a PC.
