Accompanying Persons

An accompanying persons programme showcasing the vibrant city of Cape Town is available for the enjoyment of those travelling with IFAC 2014 delegates. Registered accompanying persons can enjoy the comforts of the Accompanying Persons Lounge on Level 1 of the CTIC. They are invited to attend the Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception, the Congress Banquet and the Closing Ceremony and Farewell Reception.

The package also includes a ticket for the City Sightseeing tour bus, the world’s number one open-top bus operator that can be found in more than 70 cities around the world, and right here in Cape Town. The familiar red open-top double-decker buses depart from outside the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTIC), next door to The Westin Cape Town, and run 2 circular routes which stop at attractions around Cape Town and the peninsula, offering guests the option to hop on and hop off where they choose.

The ticket can be used on any given day during your stay, but is only valid for a single day. This is a “hop on, hop off” service, which allows you to use this tour as a convenient way to access all major highlights in Cape Town during the day. The tour includes the V&A Waterfront and city centre in detail, stops at Table Mountain for an awe-inspiring, panoramic view of Cape Town and concludes with a coastal drive back through Camps Bay. Hop off at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden which showcases the unparalleled diversity and beauty of the South African floral kingdom. Alternatively, spend some time at any of the interesting museums or the Castle of Good Hope, the oldest building in South Africa.
