Liquid-Liquid phase separation due to solvent immiscibility can be exploited to create a wetting phase that binds primary particles together to create agglomerates with better filtration characteristics. This paper reports on the advantages of controlling the phase split ratio to go from primary particles to spherical agglomerates by manipulating the solvent ratio in an IPA-water-IPAc system. Additionally, it is postulated that the rate of creation of the wetting phase must be balanced with the desupersaturation rate in order to create a robust crystallization process
