In this talk we will present results on large-scale forced assembly of Co nanoparticles in a magnetic field. The Co nanoparticles were synthesized from thermal decomposition of cobalt carbonyl. Oleic acid and oleylamine were used as surfactants to prevent nanoparticle growth. The nanoparticles obtained are 5 to 10 nm in size, depending on the synthesis temperatures and reaction time.
