Educational modules that illustrate various engineering activities are critical for supporting K-12 science and mathematics teachers who would like to introduce engineering concepts to their students and inform them about engineering as a profession they may be interested in. A Research Experience for Teachers (RET) site program supported by the National Science Foundation has enabled IIT faculty to partner with K-12 teachers to develop modules, educate additional teachers on the use of these modules and track the effectiveness of these modules in classroom environment. The presentation will summarize the program, the chemical and biological engineering modules developed, and the feedback of K-12 teachers who developed and used these modules.
