Evaluation of the physicochemical properties C-type regular gasoline with 30, 60, 90 and 120 days of storage is presented. Tests were executed with different storage conditions, in the presence of metallic catalyst and ethyl alcohol, simulating vehicle use conditions. A kinetic model for gum formation was developed through the UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy for the conditions of the analyzed samples. The results obtained demonstrate the influence of the aging period on fuel properties and indicate the storage condition that most contributes to accelerate gum formation.
