Composites

Session 43 - Processing of Nanocomposites
This session invites contributions dealing with the processing of nanocomposites, materials with nanostructured features as a design element that imparts to the material features and applications not possible otherwise. Processing may include large scale synthesis, as well as post synthesis modifications used either in the laboratory or in industry. Emphasis will be placed on (1) dispersion of soft or rigid 0-, 1-, or 2-dimensional nanoparticles via novel chemical and/or mechanical methodologies, (2) manipulation of nanoparticle/domain orientation, (3) nanocomposite rheology, and (4) establishment of key nanocomposite structure-property relationships.
Chair:Timothy D. Fornes
