Abstract

This paper demonstrates how feedforward control can assist in stabilizing unstable systems. Feedback control is necessary for stabilization, but feedforward can be used to avoid input constraints which would otherwise cause the system to go unstable. Thus, if disturbances can be measured, feedforward from disturbances can be a simple and low cost way of avoiding loss of stability due to input constraints.
