The second item (2) looks at ways to efficiently use, reuse, regenerate and recycle water to remove waste from the process streams. Finally, the downstream treatment of the produced wastewater is discussed in the last item (3). Two methodologies have been used to address these problems: 1) Graphical Diagrams and methods from Pinch Technology 2) Optimization techniques such as Mathematical Programming The seminar will show how these methods can be used effectively to address and optimize problems related to Waste generation, removal of waste by water and treatment of the effluent water.
