Network diagrams using Latex

I am an M. Eng student studying in part from your excellent book. It
appears as though it has been typeset in LaTeX (or at least something
similar), and I would like to know what software (or technique) you used to
draw the network diagrams in the book.

I am currently using LaTeX as my typesetting tool of choice, and would
appreciate this information for use in my Masters Dissertation.
