The global coordinate system determines the default material orientations. However, you can assign specific material orientations to a solid part or region by selecting a datum coordinate system or discrete field or by defining a discrete orientation.
By default, Abaqus/CAE displays element-based field output results in the coordinate systems defined during preprocessing and node-based field output results in the global coordinate system. You can however transform results into a local coordinate system during postprocessing.
