Charlotte Fiskum

Associate professor, psychology specialist

Norwegian University of Science and Technology

Background as a psychologist specialist with two specialties, one in clinical social psychology and one in child and youth psychology. Trained in EMDR and somatic trauma therapy. Ph.D. in psychology from NTNU with a focus on autonomic regulation, cardiac variability and psychological difficulties in children.

I am particularly concerned with the body, context and regulation in mental health problems and human function. I am also very interested in innovative research on transdiagnostic interventions that can strengthen the basic regulation and resilience of dysregulated stress activation, such as the systematic use of breathing, physical activity, visual stimuli, music, nature and neuromodulation. The aim is to contribute to developing and quality-assuring interventions that can be used preventively and in low-threshold work across systems and disorders.

I currently work a lot with eating disorders and substance abuse disorders in a trauma- and neuroscience-informed regulation perspective.

Like to draw in complexity/systems theory where I can.
