Abstract

An optimal estimation problem is studied with a non-classicalinformation architecture in the vehicle formation, coordinated control context. This information architecture prohibitsthe direct application of Kalman filter approaches. This paper showsthat such a suboptimal feasible estimator is attainable by recastingit as a linear matrix inequality convex optimization problem. Asimple example is given and several interesting design issues arethen discussed.
