the sound k as in "key"
the sound c as in "cow"         the sound q as in "queue"
the sound ck as in "wacky"         the sound g as in "go"
the sound ch as in "ache"         the sound lk as in "walk"

These are similar sounds.  The sound g is voiced (you use both your voice box and your mouth to say g),
whereas the k sound is unvoiced (you do not use your voice box.)


To remember that these sounds make 7 you might think of the letter k as formed from two 7's.
Double-g as in egg, counts as a single 7.
