Numerical Analysis of Flow
and Temperature Fields in the Single Row Film Cooling Teqnique
Thesis Language: Persian (Farsi)
Abstract:
Gas turbines and related problems are one of the most prominent subjects in
whole the world, because of its importance role in aircraft and power generation
industries. For example the outlet burned gas temperature of combustion chamber
is so high (often up to 2400 K) that it is not bearable for its internal walls.
It is worth mentioning that there is a direct relation between generated power
and combustion temperature that caused to take higher degrees for more power
expectedly. By the way, with any mechanical and metallurgical restrictions it
would be controlled the chamber walls and turbine blades temperature and the
internal pressure to protect from damages. One of ordinary methods for this
reason is film cooling method. In this dissertation, Numerical Analysis of Flow
and Temperature Fields in The Single Row Film Cooling Technique has been
investigated by FLUENT for five types of elliptic holes. Through the mentioned
way, it determines optimum mass flux ratio and momentum flux ratio for each
geometry. The applied turbulence model is shear stress transport (k-ω/SST) and the injection
angle is 35o. Also the density ratio considered to be 2 and mass flux
ratio is moved from 0.1 to 2.0. Comparison of existing experimental and
numerical data with present work results for circular geometry shows very
acceptable accordance.

Research & Analysis of a Stationary
Fuel Cell System for Home Application (CHP)
Thesis Language: Persian (Farsi)
Abstract:
Non renewable resources of energy (such as fossil fuels) because of their
limited amount, are being to decline and therefore to hazard the energy source
for human in the recent century. So the appropriate fuel selection with low
price and environmental friendly instead of fossil fuels and using new energy
conversion systems with high efficiency and low pollution is a necessary and
vital. One of substituting energy is to produce electricity from fuel cells.
Cogeneration (also combined heat and power, CHP) is the use of a heat engine or
a power station to simultaneously generate both electricity and useful heat. In
Iran using CHP system with less than 50 kW power will be efficient economically
and environmentally. This system will have a high efficiency near 90% while in
the conventional power plants (gas turbine and steam power plant) the efficiency
reaches 30~50%. In this research a stationary fuel cell for home application and
based on CHP system investigated & analyzed.
