1. The Nordic Garrison:

1.1 Introduction:

Formed in 2001, four years after the initial creating of the 501st. The Nordic Garrison  (aka. NG) is a part of the worldwide Star Wars costuming organization known as The  501st Legion. And it is currently the only Garrison within The 501st to have members  in more than one country.

Today, NG is represented by 61 active members from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. All its members operate solely on a volunteer basis. The Garrison also represents the great variety of costumes present in the 501st. We currently have both Stormtroopers (TK), Sandtroopers (TD), Royal Guards (TR), Biker Scouts (TB), Tie Fighter Pilots (TI), Imperial Officers, Clonetrooper, Darth Vader(s) and Boba Fett(s) and numerous new costumes coming in the near future including several identical Clones and Snowtroopers.

I joined The 501st Legion and the garrison in late June 2008, and have been lucky to have participated in many memorable events since - and most important is how many of amazing people I've got to know through the garrison, it's incredible. I came to realize that although it's the passion for Star Wars and costuming that shapes the Garrison, it's the friendship among it's members which really connects the organization together. Thanks to everyone in Nordic Garrison and 501st for letting me live out my dreams!
